Florist helps make the holidays bright

Dear Editor:

Bill O’Shea, of Bill O’Shea’s Florist and Gifts, embraced the holiday spirit by supporting the Center for Food Action’s effort to make the season brighter for the clients they serve.

For eight years, his florist and gift shop has graciously lined the Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights and Valley Boulevard in Wood-Ridge with red ribbons. For the last five years, he has highlighting the ribbons with the names of customers who donated $10 or more to the Center for Food Action (CFA). Additionally, if a customer made a $50 donation, they could provide a CFA client with a holiday dinner. Corporations that donated more than $100 received a unique red and gold ribbon bouquet.

When all was said and done, Mr. O’Shea’s efforts raised $2,500 for CFA.

Bill O’Shea has been a longtime supporter of CFA’s commitment to feed and care for those who are less fortunate. We are always appreciative of his generosity.

Center for Food Action welcomes basic non-perishable food items such as juice, cereal, canned goods, pasta, baby food, etc. Food items should not be open, expired or in glass jars.
